İstanbul Süleymaniye Külliyesi Örneğinde Külliyeler için Bir Yönetim Modeli Önerisi

Abstract

National and international approaches to “conservation of cultural assets” define these assets as a whole entity consisting of structures, structure clusters, cultural landscape zones and intangible values that complement each other. It has become apparent that in order to sustain a state of conservation for these assets, the relationship between conservation and sustainability must be applied in coordination to all aspects affecting them. It could be stated that in order to have a long term sustainable approach, the concept of “management plan” aiming primarily conservation should be introduced. The Süleymaniye Külliye (Complex) is a unique and extensive example of Ottoman Complexes which used to serve for several different functions. In this thesis, Süleymaniye Külliye has been chosen as a case study and a management model approach for the külliye (complex) which can also be used for other different cultural assets types has been developed.
