Automated Code Compliance Checking (ACCC) is a promising study field in the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) industry. The ACCC method, which is applied in order to solve the problems encountered in the building regulation controlling process, is interpreted as a critical task in order to obtain correct results by checking the rules of the building regulation clauses without errors. This study obtains article studies only written in English by literature review which are accessed from electronic academic databases in the subject area of ACCC. It demonstrates the ACCC’s overall situation in the AEC industry by combining the results of articles conducted at different locations, times and centers. This study explores the relationship between Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) with the ACCC method. It includes the development of the ACCC in the historical process and it gives detailed information about the latest and current ACCC systems that shows the current status of the solution and improvement studies.
