Abstract

The article establishes ontological esthetic foundations of the whole as the architectural design phenomenon is discussed holistically in hermeneutics. The architectural design, being a subject-object interaction process, is claimed to be understood and explained in a comprehensive way . Architectural design as a hermeneutical discourse and text production process, is interrogated relative to divergent philosophical traditions perceiving whole in different perspectives.
