Abstract

In recent years, technical textiles which are used as a buildtex material in structures are also being used as an alternative materials in contemporary structure materials. The reasons why this material is preferred can be explained by its low-cost and easy functional usage. Beside the functional usage, the usage of textile material is spreading in aesthetic applications. Furthermore, the emergence of new and innovative technologies, the change in design style of the textile has generated an upsurge in the development of multifunctional. Textiles can provide new visual aesthetic and expression possibilities in architecture. Textile materials can provide exciting visions in interior designs and sometimes it can change the building’s character completely. These aesthetic purposed applications are adding new excitements and dynamics to architecture. This study is intended to show the textile material’s aesthetic of application and the contribution of the textile aesthetic rather than to performance and functionality only.
